How It All Begin

This NGO was born from deeply personal experiences with severe mental illness (schizophrenia), which led to years of hardship, distress, disability, brief circumstantial homelessness (despite home to go) and incarceration in lack of proper treatment. Like many others facing similar conditions, I struggled to recognize my illness during psychotic episodes and was unable to advocate for myself, resulting in delayed care, injustice and human rights violations. Despite facing significant challenges for years, I was fortunate to receive the treatment and support necessary finally which created a favorable situation to rebuild my life and reintegrate into society. However, I realized that countless others remain trapped in cycles of untreated illness leading to homelessness, disability, mistreatment, injustice, hardship and sometime even incarceration for petty crimes like trespassing during psychotic episodes. This organization was founded with the mission of ensuring that individuals with mental illnesses are identified through behavioral cues, supported with compassion, provided timely treatment, diverted from vicious cycle of hardship, disability, homelessness, injustice and incarceration to rehabilitation, prevented from mistreatment and human rights violations, and supported to reintegration into society and rebuild career and life.
